Hey guys, what time are you planning on being at the track? Just trying to figure out when to leave tomorrow morning.

Going to have a go at sorting this No start issue. Not really keen on having to park on hills and hope it roll starts each time. I also have a habit of going off track or a spin at least a couple of times each day and it would be a pain if I had to start it on one of those.
With any luck I will find it today and make it down there if there are any spots left?

it seems adam's starter is different to mine. completely different. couldnt even swap housings to make a bastard one work.. gonna try source a new one today

the AE/KE starters all seem to be early type mount spacing (so back to TA/RA celicas and shit) and never got much more power than say 0.9kw. so it makes it difficult to find a compatible spaced starter that has a lot of juice.
a guy on the AE86 forums had this crazy 2kw jobbie, but it was $600 and they way the solenoiod sits it doesnt look like it will clear the block or my extractors. i dont think he ever fitted it, or if he did he had extractors that cleared it.

Good luck with it guys, the rooms for tonight are booked and paid for so we have 5 beds available. I havent booked anything for Friday night as yet and I have my doubts that there will be any vacancies if I don't do it today. Please let me know who is/isn't wanting to stay Friday night ASAP

Yeah, gates are open early, there's a drivers briefing at around 8.30 and the track is open shortly after. If you need to do paperwork (for wakefiled license etc) best you're there no later than 8 if you want to get straight out with the track opens.

Like Dneg I'm usually a little seedy first up and get a bacon and egg roll into me before I take the track on. Your car will break or you'll get sick of being on the track before the lack of opportunity for track time becomes an issue

As above, i think gates open around 7:30 but i've never been there before 8am, usually closer to 8:30am but it takes me no time to ready the car. Briefing is more like 8:45/8:50 but there'll be a bit of a queue to sign in from 8:30-ish and best to have that done before the briefing if you want to get amongst it as the track opens straight after the briefing. There's no lunch break or anything, unless somebody needs recovery or dumps fluid there's no break until it closes at 4pm.

If i make it down i doubt i'll be there first thing as i'll at least have a daycare run to do, so make a point of trying to find each other or people you've seen at these days before and say hello. There's a few new guys on our list (first post) and a few non-toymodder mates of mine, so they'll not no anyone except maybe the odd toymodder or someone they've met before or at a previous track day. I'll throw up cars next to names so you know who to keep an eye out for.

Do you have a bed for me for tonight and tomorrow? Not much point coming down if I have no car to drive though... Might save it for the next one, where I can then take my 86 along once it has arrived...

What's up with this weird starter arrangement on the spoontah?? Shirley it's just a 4A starter, which is like every other starter ever attached to a 4A? Even the different versions are usually swappable aren't they? Particularly if you have extra clearance with extractors? I could offer a smallport reduction starter sitting at Elanora, but it's been sitting there a long while and is a bit corroded in places so i can't guarantee it works... or fits from the sounds of it?
