Default LN106 Hilux power aerial control - how does it work?

Can anyone tell me how the power aerial in an LN106 hilux works? There is a motor on the aerial to drive it up and down, but how is it controlled? Is there a seperate control module or relay type setup somewhere in the dash, or is it all controlled internally via the motor / aerial assembly, and simply switched via the headunit?

My aerial isn't working, and I want to be able to check where the fault is, rather than just blindly ordering a new motor from Toyota, and copping the likely wallet raping.

    Thanks.

Ul find a power wire going to it, unplug it and with a test light in the end turn radio on and off and check for power, myths light will only come on for 5 or so seconds then reverse when turned off.
You could go after market but it won't fit right and will just be shut, I'm glad you want the genuine on

Sorry Dan, I didn't see that you'd replied here.

I'm not getting power at the aerial itself, yet the switching wire on the head unit is powered up, so it is in between somewhere. Upon doing more searching, Toyo DIY shows a relay control for the aerial, but it doesn't show where it is actually located in the car. I can't hear a relay switching type sound when the radio is turned on, which I used to be able to. Of course, I never really paid close attention to where the sound came from either
Can anyone point me in the right direction of where to look for this thing without dismantling the whole dash to try and find it?

My ln106 has an aerial module in the drivers side kick panel, funnily enough though it doesn't have a power aerial fitted when I bought it.

Excellent, I'll have a look when I get some time.

    Thanks very much.
