Well tell him to get the codes and tell him to search fking google
Mechanics these days just can't be fkt or have no fking idea on how to
Hop on google and do some research
It would save them and customers heaps of time and customer money
I'm getting a grinding / juddering coming from the LH-Rear of the car which I figure is an ABS related issue (because it doesn't happen with "Track-Off" activated or when I unplug that particular sensor ).
I swapped the ABS sensor assembly on the car with a spare assy. I had lying around and it still makes the grinding sound; so I figured the ABS ring / reluctor / / rotor / tone ring etc might be damaged / dirty.
I have checked the ABS Rotor and can't find anything wrong with that either; the ring is undamaged, is not rotating on the hub and only had minor dirt / grease on it (which I cleaned) - but I'm still getting that noise.
My Mechanic said that he doesn't have the Codes and that I have to get Lexus to do a Diagnostic on the ABS.
I'm chewing my nails w.r.t. how much Lexus might charge for this service. Can anyone tell me what sort of costs are involved in this type of Diagnostic and / or whether I can source these Codes / do the diagnosis myself?

Yeah; and it's no different anywhere else. . . .
I jumped onto the Net and visited my.IS Forum Site and some guy had a similar problem in the US. He takes his car to a Lexus dealer & they tell him he needs a new Actuator < Bill=$2400 !!! >. Turns out the brakes just had air in the system so were sending faulty signals to ABS computer.
THIS is why I am happy to drive with TRACK-OFF activated until I sus this out myself.
PS: FWIW; Local Ultratune guy said that Lexus / some other manufacturers generally won't give out ABS/other Codes until model has been out of production for at least 10 years. Having said that he said he can get Toyota ABS / other Codes. Go figure. . .
PS: Has anyone purchased a Scanner @ below link?

PPS: All sorted; got an OBDLink SX OBD II Scanner off eBay; $70 shipped. . .

Keep us posted how it works out. I have IS300 and my TRAC is very touchy.
I'm taking the advise of a guy on my.IS Forum and Pressure bleeding the brakes first; ABS systems are apparently very sensitive to any air in the system and 2-person pedal pumping manual bleeding often doesn't cut it.
A lot of guys use the Motive Power 0101 Bleeder but minimum delivery was 7-10 days from US + cost was ~ $125 delivered with universal Adapter. I made myself one for $55 yesterday using a $10 5L Garden sprayer from Bunnings; $5 truck valve; 2m of 8mm 40PSI hose ($8) and for adapter a couple of 3/8" BSP fittings, washer & O-ring ($12) & OEM brake reservior cap ($20).
Above contraption gets me about 15 PSI when its fully cranked up; hopefully that's enough to properly flush the system. I'm going to bleed calipers & actuator in next day or so. I'll let you know how it tiurns out.
PS: I had a payment issue with OBDLink SX OBD II Scanner and purchase didn't go through - which was kind of lucky as on further reading I'm not 100% sure it reads ABS / SRS Codes in addition to Engine Codes. I have found ones that clearly do but cheapest is around $175-200 shipped. OBD scanners are no doubt handy things to have but I'll only buy one if I have to; i.e. if pressure bleeding system doesn't solve ABS issue.
