apparently an F crown wheel and pinion will fit into any sort of F series housing. looks like you may be ok.
Hello, i'm chasing a new ring and pinion gear for my MK11 corona F series diff.
The only brand new ones I can find are from Motive Gears & Yukon in the states.
The gears are made for IFS 4runners which have a F series 7.5" diff. They claim that they also fit RWD supra's IRS and RWD live axle 'trucks'.
I just want to know if anyone can confirm that the IFS/IRS ring & pinions can fit into the live axle housings?
Don't really want to fork out the money to get them sent over and then find they are a nonfit.

Thanks guys.. I've sent an email off to those places to see if they have any ideas.
Seems so easy to get 7.5" IFS gears for 4runners, on ebay and all these websites.. But yeah just need that confirmation that it can fit into a live axle.
I am confident the ring gear would be interchangeable, but thought the pinion could be different in a IFS/IRS setup.
The rear end in Rod's MS53 is a MA61 IRS LSD centre in a MS112 solid housing.
Yeah the IRS centres are interchangable without a doubt.. As I have a torsen centre in mine that fits the live axle, 4runner IFS, supra IRS, etc.
But gears?
Yeah, sorry dude I didn't read the thread as thorougly as I should have. I'm sure there is someone around with a set of "used" gears from an IRS F series that could let you test fit them to your centre. It's a pain to have to pull it down before you know you have the replacement parts but if you get it done while the car is down for the intake manifold that shouldn't be too bad.
Yeah my thoughts exactly mate.. The inlet manifold is with the welder now but he has a huge backlog of work and as mine is more a 'favour' it'll be on the bottom of the priority pile..
So figure i might as well rip the diff out and rebuild it.

These are the gears that are for the reverse cut IFS, i.e, the ones you DON'T want...

Just out of interest.. Does anyone know what the quality is like of these replacement gears?
Seems there is a choice between Motive, Yukon, Superior, Richmond, Precision?
I've only had experience with Precision Gear... they make mission critical parts for avaiton and defense contracts. Pretty darn good quality, IMHO.
Regardless of whom you buy, proper set-up of the R&P is really going to make or break it
if you need a crown wheel and pinion can get them for about 450 aussie but only 4.5 and 4.8 from memory ,what ratio are you after joel
Hey all, well I had a chat to Yukon and it seems their R&P do fit the lixe axle 7.5" diff. In the US there is some 2WD 4runner type truck that uses a 7.5" gears. So i've ordered a set of 4.1:1 gears.. $350 aus delivered express post.
Fingers crossed they work.
Cheers
Joel
i thought the 4 runner was g series..8" :?
Most are, but there is a 2wd model it seems in the states that used a 7.5" rear end. Also the same R&P suposedly fits supras, IFS 4runners..
