I went to the last one. It's worth going.
Cheers, Greg.
Toymodders,
The Australian Confederation of Motor Clubs (ACMC) of which Toymods is affiliated with has requested our support for their Motoring Enthusiast Conference. They want as many cars on show at this event as possible.
The purpose of this event is to have a demonstration of modified and club vehicles of all kinds with the intent to make a unified petition of motor enthusiast to the the Minister for Roads and Ports, the honourable Duncan Gay along with senior officials from Transport for NSW (TNSW) and Roads and Maritime Service (RMS). The petition is requesting improved laws and registration categories for modified cars, particularly modified historic vehicles. This is important for all toymodders as it will relax some of the difficult compliancing laws such as brake energy testing and pollution testing and provide a restricted use (read cheap) registration category for modified vehicles, akin to the current Historic rego.
I would like to see a strong support from Toymods at this event as it will be to our benefit.
Entry is free for car entrants and spectators.
When: Sunday 17th February (this Sunday)
Where: Sydney Motorsport Park
Meet location: 8.30am Meet at McDonalds - Cnr of Reservoir Rd and Holbeche Rd Prospect
Time: 8:30am

Following the huge success of last year’s Motoring Enthusiasts Conference, the Australian Confederation of Motor Clubs (ACMC) is staging the event again on Sunday, February 17th – which will be held at newly revamped Sydney Motorsport Park, thanks to the generous support of the ARDC.
Entry will be exclusively via gate B (off Peter Brock Drive), which opens at 9am. The beauty of this event is that it’s open to all enthusiasts and is a perfect opportunity to mingle with many different enthusiasts, whether they’re street machine, hot rodding, classic or 4x4 enthusiasts. Entry is free to all and everyone is encouraged to come along. A huge turnout sends a clear message to the bureaucrats as to the strength of our numbers, which in turn gives the government far more incentive to favourably-resolve the issues faced by all motoring enthusiasts.
There is also a separate, face-to-face delegate conference with the Minister for Roads and Ports, the honourable Duncan Gay along with senior officials from Transport for NSW (TfNSW) and Roads and Maritime Service (RMS). Entry to the delegate conference is by pre-purchased ticket only

might be going
Well I will be at the meet point at 8:30. will probably head off to Eastern Creek at 9.
If anyone is coming, I'll see you there.
How did it go today? I would have come but had some important stuff to do at home and couldn't get down there unfortunately. Hopefully it was a good turnout.
Yeah it was a good day, Possibly a hundred of so cars there during the day, it was kinds hard to tell as cars arrived and left all day long.
We only had 3 cars there, my 22, Gregs Tiara and my brothers Escort. So not a particularly good support from Toymods but given the late notice not surprising.
I didn't go into the conference but listened to a lot of it that was broadcast over the PA system. The conference sounded well run and had plenty of support from the motoring community. Hopefully it was well received by the official guests.
I'll post up a few pics of the day tomorrow,
I'm spewing I missed this, I've been following the conference news for a while now and would've definitely gone if I'd known earlier but unfortunately with a new job I dont get to check in here as much as I'd like to any more.
So, some pics of the event.
We only had 3 representing our club and one of those was a ford but we did show. Here is Gregs cool little Tiara, my Celica and my brothers Escort.
And a few more pics of the show. There was a huge variety of stuff there which was refreshing, American muscle, british sports cars, 4x4's bikes, an electric ute thing with half a magna strapped to the back of it, old hot rods, new trophy winning customs. I really enjoyed the day it's a shame more toymodders weren't there.
