Hi again
just pulled apart my 4agze map rods and main to see the condition of the bearings. Just would like to know what size the bearings are standard or oversize. The rod bearings have a01 stamped on one end and a number 2 printed on the other end of the bearing, any idea what this means?
I am assuming that they are standard size I hope.
looking at the acl race bearings as I can grab them for cheap standard or oversize
cheers
that table is exactly what I was after, is that in the BGB? I seriously haven't actually really been searching yet, just a fleeting thought atm.
Jazcook, dunno if people will agree about this but I have always been of the thought if you are just going to remove and replace the bearing you should get the correct size number from toyota, but if your going to get the crank linished that number table goes out the window so then you better off getting aftermarket standard size bearings. You will usually only need oversize if you get your crank ground dues to scoring, damage etc.

thats great guys, really helps me out.
I have had a look and I can see 2222 on the block, 1, 11, 01 on the crank and 01a on the rod bearings so I guess I can understand what size I need but when you look at ACL race sieres bearing they only come in standard size and oversize.
So i am just going for the standard ones
cheers
if you are just going for standard bearings.... I STRONGLY recommend you purchase some Plastigage PL-X and check your clearances BEFORE you seal it up........ Toyota bearing clearances are snug.........
specs from the blacktop.....
mains: 0.015-0.045mm
rods: 0.030-0.061mm
My preferences....(ALL measurements in millimeters) mains well within the spec(.025-.030), while the rods you can run a few thousandths on the loose side(.045-.050), but within the spec.
