    Default The best way to Clean old intercoolers !

    hey guys , this might sound like a very simple question but im sure everyone here with a intercooler will face this question once or twice !

    What are your best methods of cleaning intercoolers - be it inside ( to remove oily crud that accumulates over the years ) and on the fins when it gets full of bugs !

    Examples ! Ideas ! help newbies ! GO!

    Mine got a lot of oil in it thru the intake and I taped up one end then put a lot of degreaser in it and taped up the other end and gave it a shake around every few days. Rinsed with water and metho I think

    Steam cleaner

    Failing that, orange oil based cleaners inside and out. Be very careful what degreaser you use, quite a few are caustic.

    I washed mine out with diesel ? Not sure if its correct but I had it there

    Wax and grease remover and a good hard shake on my 4AGZE topmount here. Rinse and repeat until clean.

    i just used some old fuel. cleans well and evaoprates. in a well ventilated area obv.

    id suggest fuel too just similar to aboue posts tape on end put fuel in and shake maby a couple lots of fuel thru it
