    Default need help

    Ihave a 18rgue motor , bought a set of rings for it which they said was for an 18rg , problem i have is the new set of rings are thicker , i thought all the 18rg models were the same . Hope somebody can help me in whether they are the same or the 18rgue have a thinner ring , need to know so i can do something about the new rings i have?

    I read that the 1st and 2nd compression rings on 18RGs are thinner than the 18R rings so these may be 18R that you have.

    That said the ACL catalogue in front of me says that the ring widths on both the 18R and 18RG are both 2.000, 2.5000 & 4.000.

    Any measurements you have or part numbers for reference??

    The rings i bought are a Mahle brand Part no PS1446-STD hope this helps you , it looks like the compression rings are 2mm , my standard rings are thinner.

    Mahle come through ACL as well and that is the part number that ACL use. Do your new rings fit your pistons?

    No , the 2 top rings are to thick
