Default 4agte with standard distributor ignition setup

    Hey Guys

I am going to be doing a 4agte on my current NA JDM Bigport 4age. Just looking to run low boost for the moment in its current form so the bottom end doesn't go bang.

Ive been doing a heap of searching the last couple of days to try and work out if anyone has done a 4agte setup with a normal dizzy as apposed to going to a 4agze CAS setup.

I was going to get some GZE injectors and then try control the fuel with SAFC.

If anyone could shed some light on this that would be great and any other information that would be great.

    thanks

    julz

Yep, I did exactly what you are planning with a smallport 4age.
    Standard dissy system worked fine.
I actually replaced the ecu with a gze one, with matching injectors and map sensor... and then added an emanage.

Honestly, just get a second hand adaptronic or similar. For the effort of fucking around with an safc or emanage, it's not much more cost to go full stand alone, and the result is much more reliable and better all round.
    ...... butt scratcher?!

so you replaced it with a non afm 4agze ecu?

With the adaptronic would I still be able to run the standard distributor or would it be better to go the 4agze cas setup?

I've been running a AE92 Smallport as 4AGTE using the stock distributor setup for years and it hasn't missed a beat. I run around 12psi (using GZE pistons) with the stock 100kW ECU and an eManage blue. For injectors I'm using the light green 1GGTE ones as I didn't want to bother with using resistors for the GZE injectors. Car runs great and was a good cost effective way to do the conversion, got to keep all the original wiring and sensors too.

you can use the smallport distributor as a cas. they are the same internally, just get rid of the rotor button and make up a smaller cover for it if you want...
