Good day for times today, a few PBs.

Good pics as always Tyrie
Certainly were some good laps out there today, especially Todd's RX7 on sticky tyres lapping oh-so-near-as-fark to 47 seconds! Its a hillclimb weapon for sure.
I chased axle-tramp issues all day, and didn't crack into the 49's as i'd hoped to do. Will have to be next year!
Camera angle here was a bit of a waste of time, can't see much of the track:

Frustrating day but fun all the same. Traction was optional even with Tyrie's generous offer to use his Semi's for the day. Last run was borked as well because one of the injector plugs worked loose during the burnout and it dropped a cylinder. Still a 51.56 was still the fastest the car has gone and there was no smoke trail today so at least we are heading in the right direction. Was good to meet some of you guys as well, always nice to be able to put a face to a name.
Cheers
Paul
I had a f'n fun day! Softs + PP = mega fun. Sooo close to a 47 - maybe next year. And the other Todd was so close to a 46...

Thanks Phil! It'd be a 47 if I could drive. It's all engine, gearbox & tyres.
Just watched the incar - I actually really liked the angle as I knew where on the track you where even without seeing, and it's good to watch the wheel work - you are so laid back and no fuss with the inputs. Similar one of me would look like a spastic duck flapping away... Lucky I only have to change gear once - 2/3rds up the hill - absolute cheater car.![]()

Well the "spastic duck" technique obviously works, I might have to give it a try
I still can't get over your 60' times with a PP and such a tall 1st gear Todd....... It defies physicsWhat sort of clutch do you run, it obviously doesn't mind being slipped a bit?

Congrats to the Spastic flapping duck for the good times!
Always good to see other cars perspectives of the goat track Phil...... Looks like very predictable and smooth oversteer...
Good to hear the turbo is sorted out Paul, as you said, that S series ain't doing you any favours. Not known for their racing heritage...![]()
Once you sort that, your times will drop....
Plenty of time before Round 1 next year....

Thanks guys.
But it really does show the difference tyres make - same car, no changes, same type of tyre just a change in compound from medium to soft and knocks 0.65 of a second off my time (from 48.73 down to 48.08) - and at the pointy end of the field that is a huge amount of time to gain. I'm within half a second of the class record. So I'm well chuffed!
Too be honest Phil I'm not sure what the clutch is. Think it is a brass button clutch - was one that JW had second hand, was no longer suitable for long distance events. Has copped an absolute hammering from me as I slip it off the line something chronic. Think I'm up for a new one soon, when the PP went in the Reliance lads did mention it has seen better days...
The split times really come down to sticky tyres, the 4.77 diff and absolutely no mechanical sympathy.
And almost totally forgot - thanks as always Tyrie for photos! Always good to see what the car is doing - never realised I rode the ripple strips so high!
Will get some incar up soon as I get some time to get them off my phone and onto YouTube.
