Witzl's writeup is good.
The basics are:
Your dizzy has no power supply.
The white wire (and multiple white wires inside the dizzy body) is earth.
The red wire gives you 24?? (you can count the teeth) pulses per cam revolution. That should be trigger (I think).
The green and the yellow each give you one pulse per cam revolution. One of them is used as sync (I think).
I may have got sync/trigger confused, but you can find out which is which from the manual for your ECU.
Check Witzl's article for rising/falling edge and also be aware of single or individual earth wires back to the ECU. Use shielded wiring for the CAS and always run signal earth back to the ECU (yes, it is earth, but no, you can't just bolt it to the block).
I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.
Drift Volvo. Was fun. 2JZ next time.
Scott I'm sorry I can't contribute.
Instead I'll ask a question.
It looks to me that the pic of your dizzy shows four wires. Can you confirm that?
All the wiring diagrams I've seen show four wires but my dizzy has six.
Sorry for the semi hijack but I think the information you need might also answer my question.
Yeah man 4 wires. Out of the base of the dizzy that's all dunno why you would have 6 what colours are they

Not sure right now (over the phone to my mechanic) but ill post when I can take a look.
Looking through some of the posts by the previous owner, it looks like the engine may have been from an auto setup and converted to manual, perhaps extra wires exist for auto purposes.
the extra wires might be that your dizzy doesnt have a common wire inside the dizzy
maybe u have 2 wores for each sensor making 6 wires
and 3 of those wires are common
but joined in engine harness or at ecu
some ecus have g1- g2- and ne- all going to ecu
these are all grounds for dizzy sensors
some ecus have g- which is basically g1- g2- ne- all joings into one wire then going to ecu
Thanks guys. I'll start a new thread so I stop hijacking Scotts. Looks like I have issues not possibly related as I thought.
