    Default rusty trailer floor fix

    I just aquired a box trailer and have to put in a new floor as the old one has rusted out very badly.
    i can get a sheet of 5mm checker plate alloy thatll fit but will it be ok to re register if say this new floor was rivited in?
    RT104 with 4AGTE

    Some assembly required

    in qld it would be fine as it would not even be inspected by them - yay with self compliance
    maybe it would be better if you used some mushroom headed bolts though - say 6mm

    since semi trailer tipper bodies use 6mm aluminium floors, i think your little box trailer will be fine with 5mm provided it's got some support underneath it (a couple angle steel crossmembers would suffice). about the only thing you'll need to do is fasten the floor down with some decent bolts as mentioned above.

    why do you have to register a box trailer? in vic you can get away without rego on a 6x4 garden trailer.

    you just pay the rego around here, they don't get inspected.

    edit. sorry not sure about re-rego. Might need a looking at.
