EPIC CELICA GT4 TRIBUTE CRUISE
October 13th - 14th 2012
Well, here it is. The big one. Come and join OzCelica WA as we head down south for a weekend, cruising through forests where drivers such as Carlos Sainz and Juha Kankkunen have taken their GT4s to the limits in the pursuit of WRC fame.
We leave Perth at 12pm midday on Saturday October 13th, then cruise all the way down the freeway to Mundijong Road. From there we head over to the South West highway, heading South until we reach Floopers roadhouse, for a quick leg stretch and supplies.
Next up, Del Park road will start taking us up over the scarp and into the forest – all the way over the old steam train line to the forest town of Dwellingup. In Dwellingup we make a quick pit stop at the Wine Tree, a magnificent little place surrounded by an apple orchard.
After suitable and responsible refreshments, we go 40km along the Williams – Pinjarra road, winding and climbing through magnificent Jarrah forests very close to the WRC events.
We take a very quick stop near Boddington to see the BHP Bauxite Mine from a viewing area, then head down the valley, travelling through rolling farmland along the Lower Hotham Road, then the Harvey – Quindanning road
Once there we sit around, tell tall stories, eat drink and be merry. Everyone can decide at the time there perfered route home
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW :
- This cruise is open to all Celica's and MR2's, not just Celica GT4s. However contact [email protected] for further information. It is also open to friends of anyone who is coming along.
- Event is a day cruise only.
- IF YOU WANT TO COME,
- Meet at Mal Motors at 11am 13th October 2012 (3/6 O'Malley Street Osborne Park)
- This cruise is 18+, we will be visiting licensed premises. Be responsible. Illegal drink driving is shit, don't do it.
- Make sure you have a full tank of petrol, and a spare tyre with some air in it. If your wheels have strange nuts, bring the right socket to remove them.
- We won’t be going on gravel, so your paintwork is safe. Bitumen all the way.
- No hoon behaviour, speeding, etc. We arent out to break the law or set a negative example, noisy sporty cars have a hard enough time as is!
- Total length of drive : about 340km
UPDATED CRUISE DETAILS
Direction will be given from start, to keep hoons and unsavory characters out.
After the days events at 7:00pm we drive to Outlaws Mexican Restaurant (Silver Sands, Mandurah), have dinner, those who wish to cruise home all the way up the Freeway.
You can leave the cruise at any time, so if you don't want to go out for dinner, or don't want to ride bumper cars, etc, just head on home.
How's that for a plan? I'll tentatively book the restaurant for 8 people or so, unless you guys hate Mexican, or don't want to stay out that late, or whatever.

In addition, there are a few surprises that I'm trying to get lined up. Some very special, very unique cars that I'm trying to get involved. More details to follow...
