DOT legal = road legal here

No it doesn't some tyres in the states like 2-3 Banded groove slicks are dot rated but they are not road legal in Australia eg Kuhmo V710s.

Technically they are.......... if I can be fucked I go look up the ADR's but I'm certain that a tyre here has to meet one of the above standards.
But even in the states, your going to get booked for running them. Cops look for tread and that's it.

pretty sure there are disclaimers everywhere that the V710s are for offroad use only.

garth, R1-Rs are available in 16" also if you wanna stay with an Scomp rather than an Rcomp. federal RS-Rs are much cheaper and give similar dry performance, but R1-Rs shit all over them in the wet.

i say stump up the cash for some V70As through phil though

Car's fixed
alternator changed. Luckily the Elantra one I had here fitted straight on once I drill out the charging terminal. Voltage is now steady at 14.5V from somewhere north of 15.

Idle fixed also. You know something's an issue when every idle motor off a particular car is gone from the wreckers Luckily, the Accent one fits despite the change in plug position.

Will check under the house but think I picked up a set of used R888s 205/15s a while back as I run 15 front 16 rear. Think you were after 195s? I have the 225rear 205 front track wheels from my spyder on the AW with no worries.

I just realised the tyres I have a 205's, I was going to run them on the front but

a. They are a bit too wide for my wheels
b. 205 on the front with 195 on the back = bad

ah bugger. Heard about this from the guys on PF who were there and wondered if it was you. Looks pretty rooted? Walked away which is the main thing and hopefully the running gear can swap across to another shell? Must be some 240K's around? kinda retro cool and maybe a cheaper option?
