yeah i like this idea too i guess in sa its alot of the classic celica guys here so that counts towards a toyota themed event already
Hi Guys,
Just wanted to start a discussion about this...
I realise Toymods is NSW based, but, thanks to the joys of the Internet, it's truely nationwide, and, indeed international.
Has the Toymods Board considered having a Toyotafest in other states ? I'm sure if we tried, you would find that there would be members in several states that could assist with organisation of venues etc.....
Just a thought.... Wished like mad I could've been there, but it's 1000km away....
Cheers
Scott

The way (and I may be simple minded on this ) I see it there are two things that perhaps need to be looked at...
1. TOYMODS - NSW based, sure, but it's a NATIONAL club going forward
2. There are enough members in each state to be able to have regional ToyotaFests....
As Jeremy Clarkson would say..... "How hard can it be ?".........

The first hurdle for anything would be getting insurance for the event. As far as I'm aware as Toymods is a NSW club, it can't get insurance out of state. So someone would need to get the 20mil PL insurance.
Cheers

Beige.... The new Black!!!
um.. ouch....
I guess even if the existing PL insurance was used, the cost would go up....
and that is crazy..... is it no wonder people just don't bother.....
I will do some investigating on the Gold Coast.... around requirements for events

I think you're getting confused about the difference between the club and the forums. The club (which is registered, incorporated and operates as a non-profit organisation) is a NSW entity, the forums are national. There is nothing stopping someone from interstate becoming a financial member of the club, but there are legal and practical reasons why the club has remained a NSW entity up until now (there has been plenty of discussion over the years of expanding it though).

Hiro,
I'm not confused, I'm suggesting looking at the Club as a National Club going forwards ( long term... ) I'm already a financial member, so, I get that just fine... but I'm saying as a member being in QLD I have a very slim chance to participate in club events that I would dearly like to be at...
I'm sure the feeling is not mine alone..... !!
On another note, in the meantime, there is the GOLD COAST CAR SHOW on 18th Nov coming up....
May be a good chance for the Queensland Toymodders to get together and represent our club....
