Default celica gt4 st185 wiring problem - need help.

hi guys. my name is reggie. i drive a celica gt4 st185 . at the time of the car's purchase the car was running a 3sgte mr2 engine and was running on a aftermarket ems ecu. recently i've had problems with the car and needed to replace the engine.

i have managed to find myself a healthy 3sgte engine that is meant for the gt4 and got it fitted in and planned on putting the car back to stock therefore removing the dodgy wiring harness the car was running on before (being piggybacked and all from an mr2 wiring loom) and buying a new harness and have it run on a stock ecu.

all work has been completed but the car wont start. its cranking but it wont turn over as its not getting any spark. i have replaced the coil as at first thought i suspected it to be the problem. i have had a mechanic look at it and he suggest its a wiring problem that connects the car's stock ecu. i suspect this is the case as well since the car was afterall running everything on the aftermarket ecu before.

anyone got any thought on this ? would an auto electrician be able to fix this easily or is it gonna be a big job and end up costing me lots of dollars since auto electricians go by the hour just to get the car running again ? does anyone know any place out there in sydney that works on gt4's or would recommend ? any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance !

not sure if you guys can see but below are just some pics of the car .

y couldnt the mechanic atleast check for power at common things like
    coil or injectors or ignitor

or atleast check if check engine light comes on which means ecu is turning on
or check for 5v at tps power wire this will tell him ecu is on aswell
was the new engine loom from a car exactly the same
maybe the jap import ones have slightly differnet looms
i know they is slight changes in wiring for fuel pump circuit openign triggers

im not quite sure as me and the mechanic have drifted ways since he was taking his time to commence on the job but from what i can remember there was no power coming from the coil but there was 12v coming out of the high tension wire ? im not really sure since unfortunately im not really familiar with this mechanic side of things.

with the wiring loom he just fixed up the old wiring since it was like an octopus (literally) with connections going everywhere as whoever owned and worked on the car before did a really dodgy job and looked like he just piggybacked everything and connected it to the aftermarket ems ecu with a mr2 3sgte engine just to get the car running. the mechanic basically worked on the wiring that was on the car and joined it up with parts that were needed from another wiring harness if that makes sense ?

the newly made loom is already in the car and wired up along with the new engine that just got fitted. its cranking but not turning over and isnt receiving any spark as theres issue with the wiring.
