I cant help you with what car to get the diff out of, but i'm curious do you mean higher ratio = lower geared or lower ratio = higher geared, people usuallly get it mixed up, i think you are actually asking for a lower ratio = higher gearing as MX83 have 4.3 ratio in them dont they ?? ..

As you would know its the ratio of the pinion wheel to the crown wheel that is what people are referring to, & as in a example of a say a 5.1 ratio, its 5 turns of the pinion to 1 turn of the crown wheel & if using this ratio as an example it would be called a high ratio but lowered geared diff ..

    Sorry to drag on ..

    Hi,

I want a higher ratio diff, so that the top speed is lower the car has more acc but shit fuel economy on the hwy...that kinda higher ratio.

Turns out, acording to wikki, its actually a mx73 cerssida (1984 to 88)

is there a difference in diffs from mx73 and mx83's?

You are right on the higher ratio = lowered geared, so if its a 3.9 ratio now, you will need to go to a 4.1.or 4.3 etc to get what you are wanting ..

Buy the 4.5 ratio that is in the forsale section.

4.3 IS fun i run that but for a NA 4.5 would be good to.
