Bosch 040 fuel pump in 1J JZA70

Hi kiddies,

Hoping someone could answer this for me, can't seem to find and DIY's or threads on it.

Need to replace the fuel pump in my car going to upgrade it to a Bosch 040.
Does anyone know if it is an easy fit up?

Has anyone replaced there's before? Some guidance would be nice as I want to fit it up this weekend coming.

Hey Corinne. The Walbro 255 are pretty much a straight swap if you can go that way. From memory the A70 inspection whole isn't big enough to pull the pump out so you have to drop the fuel tank, someone else might chime in on that though.

Why wouldn't you go with a TT supra fuel pump? I believe theyre about the same price as an 040, will likely fit in the stock hanger (straight bolt into a cressida, literally exactly the same external appearance) and have very similar flow characteristics to an 040. Denso part number is 950-0155. (you must be careful not to get a fake similarly to walbros and 040's of course).

Also theyre dead quiet too unlike a walbro.

Yea, bit late now. Already purchased the 040 and fitting it up this weekend..
