    Exclamation 4AGE / 1G-GTE rod exchangable?

I just find 4age rod data on internet..
    4AG rod spec as below:
pin bore 20mm / big end bore 42mm(early model 40mm)/ rod length 123mm

And 1G-GTE rod spec as below:
pin bore 20mm/ big end bore 42mm( Gen3 44mm)/ rod length UNKNOW but my hand masurement is about 122-123mm,plz correct me if I am wrong......Anyone know exact rod length of 1G-GTE?

    so, here is my question

    Can forged 4age rod(big end 45mm bore) fit in gen3 1g-gte engine?

    cheers

they are not same...even stock 4ag rod ,there are 4 different kinds....see the pic as below... they are all different, but pin bore/big end bore/rod length are most same, except early model one has got 18mm pin bore.

I would've thought a decent google search should turn up an answer for you? I tried 30 secs worth for you and didn't turn it up, but it can't be too much further away. Wait, you hand measured one at "122-123mm"; why can't you just properly measure the one you've got your hands on??

I have got 1 piece Gen3 1g-gte rod and 1 piece 4age forged rod borrowed from my friend at the moment

The 4age forged rod is BELFAB PRO H-BEAM RODS

    spec as below
    The rod length 122mm (4.800")
    Big End Bore 45mm (1.772")
    Pin Dia. 20.01mm (.787")
    Rod Weight 460g

and the stock 1g-gte rod I only can meausre it by a ruler, not CC masrement, so i think my number may not excat number.

But if my masurement is correct, from the main 3 data(pin bore/big end bore/rod length) comparison, I think they are capable...

    Just my opinion

    cheers

dunno how accurate this is but spent awhile looking around and have found no concrete info, but it seems they have the same length as a 4k/5k rod from the 1g rod and piston into 4k threads around.
spool list there 5k rods at 120mm

    http://www.spoolimports.com/spool-co...toyota-conrods

interesting also as the 1g rod piston combo sits the piston 3mm under deckhight so if you could fit a 4age rod it would bring the piston back up.

Not surprised that it is close, if you look a bit further into the K-A rods you'll find that 7As have the exact same rod (part number and all) as the 7K.
