Post TECCWA Red Mist Autokhana Series 1 Awards Sunday 9th Sep (tentative Series 2/3 dates)

TECCWA's Coffee Convergence will take place, as usual, down in Fremantle at 9:30am on Sunday the 9th September.

In addition, we are planning to hold our TECCWA Red Mist Autokhana Series 1 Awards and a general social BBQ at Whiteman Park at 12:30pm on the same day.

This means people can come along to both, perhaps with a mini cruise to Whiteman Park for those doing so, or just join us at Whiteman Park if they're not interested in a coffee fix.

We'll be putting on food, and members, non-members and Autokhana entrants are welcome to attend. In fact, we intend to invite Targa West Chicane Officials along as well for their thank-you and a bit of socialising.

Along with awards to Autokhana winners, there will be the opportunity to visit the Whiteman Park Motor Museum. Entry will be free.

We've booked SHELTER Z for our meet, food and presentation. So activities will start there at 12:30pm.

I know it's not the most convenient location for the museum. But we can either try driving up from there afterwards, or catch the tram up for those with kids or who are big kids and like trams.

    There's also a Tractor (18RC?) Show on apparently :-)

For those interested in TECCWA Red Mist Series 2 and 3, tentative dates are as follows, with details to be published once confirmed, along with updated event documentation, etc:

    Series 2:
    • October 14th 2012
    • December 9th 2012
    • February 10th 2013

    Series 3:
    • April 14th 2013
    • June 9th 2012
    • August 4th 2013

We are switching to a 3 events per series format, with results requiring entry to all events in a series, and Top Gear remaining as current. There will be a perpetual trophy for Top Gear winners, with leaders being added over time. We're aiming for an event every 2 months to aid preparation and to not wear people out.

We are also investigating professional drivers and possibly driver training in some form during the future series, so stay tuned for more there too.

    Regards

I'll be at freo for coffee but have alternative plans after that - typical of the rest of the Red Mist series for me pretty much! Haha

This will be at 12:30pm. Had arranged for the use of the BBQ's near the Motor Museum, but apparently they were double-booked, so will try find the next best location.

We're still planning a visit to the Motor Museum, which will be free.

Sweet, I'll be there as usual.

BBQ's double booked hey, that sucks, maybe we should just bring one ourselves instead.

Yep, I plan to take ours just in case we can just setup nearby. According to their web site, gas/electric BBQ's are permitted on non High Fire Risk days. Will try find somewhere close to the museum and setup "operations" there, and "catch/direct" people who may still go to the original BBQ's.

    Grrrrrr

Fine and 27 degrees sounds perfect too!

Think we might go for Chicken and salad, BBQ's and Whiteman Park are a long story... so we'll go Plan B (or is that C?)

Not ideal location, but we've booked shelter Z at Whiteman Park near Mussel Pool.

Have free entry to museum and, if we can't drive up and find parking nearby, we're close to the tram if we want to catch that up?

Apparently, there's a Tractor Show on too. 18RC engines?

There is a thread up for the 21st of Oct, but getting dates confirmed relies on dealing with the venue and others, and we're not able to get all dates locked-in as yet.

As it is, they're wanting updated/more documentation from AASA, and AASA think what they've got is enough. So, I've still got some organisational "issues" to deal with in time for the 2 dates we have been given.

It's hard dealing with people it seems.
