82 degrees is the opening temp of the 4AGE thermostats, so I'd set it a little above that, say 85 degrees.
Just wondering what the operation temperature is for a 20v?
using EWP and unofficial controller

Check that blacktop service manual thats floating around, the opening temp-range for the thermostat is in there, I think its within 80-something degrees, however It could actually be different as the silvertop uses a different thermostat to the blacktop.
I'm also considering seting up an EWP, I'm curious about what "unofficial controller" you are using.

Any controller has to be better that EWP IMHO. I'm keen to hear about the unofficial controller as i'm trying to work out the best plan to make something that actually works in our application.
i dont think this is better then then the actual EWP controller but ive never used the actual one.
Its just modified temp switch kit and a motor speed controller from jaycar. It requires heaps of testing to get it running right though but its only about $50
