    Default Injector volume??

23209-16100, or 23209‑16120 are the 2 fuel injectors that I'm looking to find out their volume. Yes, I can get a few tested to find out, but I thought someone on here might be able to direct me to a volume rating for these injectors. These are for the 1st gen 4AFE.

I'm hoping to find a set of injectors that have a bit more capacity, 15% or so, that is why I need to learn the volume of these.

Why do I need more fuel in my 4AFE? The engine has a few mods - porting, and compression bump. She is alright MOST of the time, but on hotter days, and under A/C load as well as WOT conditions she will ping a bit.... I figured a small bump in injector volume might minimize, or eliminate this.

green... so making an assumption that my 4AF injectors are 176cc... what would be available in about 195cc? USA 4AGE TVIS engines are reported to use 210cc... I think that might be a bit too large... not sure the "dumb" ecu could adjust on a 20% larger injector.

    Any ideas???

so what u seem to have is 176cc, 13.8 ohms which is high impedience.
Check if there top feed injectors, establish if single pintle. If an EV1 plug.
The reason i ask, is for an exact replacement, as u can always change plugs and ther's many option if pintles are either of the mentioned.

Can you increase the fuel rail pressure?

53.4psi on the fuel rail would get your injectors to flow 195cc assuming factory fuel pressure is 43.5psi

upping rail pressure may not give you a linear rise in fuel delivery rate.

In any case, standard fuel rate will be 35-38psi.

It's been 100 degrees or near the past few days so I don't have the car to easily refer too.... It is the only ride we have with operating A/C, and I like my wife

BUT.... the AE9x FSM has a test procedure for checking the 4AFE injectors.... making a long story short(on how to do it) "Volume: 40cc -50cc/15 sec... OR 40-50cc in a 15 second time frame. That would mean the volume could be as high as 200cc, or as low as 160 cc and still be in spec.... so 176cc seems accurate......

In the SAME manual... the 4AG injectors (1989, so still TVIS) are rated at 45cc-55cc/15 sec.

It would seem that a set of 4AGE injectors are NOT too big.............

    Dan,
    For your 4afze boosted application.

I would use the 5SFE injectors.
They have the same 13.8ohms resistance as the green 4afe injectors. and will give you a 17% increase according to this table here.
    http://autospeed.com/cms/title_Injec...2/article.html

There are many 4age injectors listed, but none of them have the same resisitance as the 4afe's high impedence.. so not sure how the 4afe ECU would handle them.

I did a whole write up with side by side comparison of each injector but took too long and toymods timed out..

It's all there in the table..

Interested to hear grunt's new dyno figures

the injectors are not for boost....

If you look carefully... there IS a 4AGE injector that is high ohm, the last 4AGE injector listed... rated @ 213 cc.

What I found also interesting is the 200cc high ohm injectors for the 3SFE(2 listed, one low ohm, one high ohm), and a similar set for the 22RE

Cool, I was rushing.... then I did notice the 213cc 4age injector....
I was biased having had the 5sfe injector in mind as an upgrade for non boost 4afe..

I know the 5SFE's not intended for boost but my basic thinking is that it flows enough for your set up.. Well at least better than the stock green 4AFE injectors.
I'm guessing it matters whether or not an injector is high impedence when it comes to boost? Is that correct?
    Interested to know how??

Hope you found it helpful anyway..

EDIT: Do you know what percentage of air you are now feeding the engine above factory?
