What else uses same ignitor as 2jz-gte?

Just wanting to know what other toyota models/engines use the same ignitor as the 2jz-gte JZS147?

if it has 6 coils then u need an ignitor of another 6 coiled j motor
so a 1j will do
think i have spares

if your 2j has 3 x dual output coils then u need igntior to suit 3 x dual output coils
im not sure if a 1j vvti very late model has same ignitor
but these ones are very hard to find

It has 6 individual coils mounted above spark plugs, they are all brand new.
Was reading on an America forum the Toyota Avalon ignitor is the same too, is that right?

not sure on avalon

u just need a common 1jz gte ignitor
u should have a wide and narron black 12 pin plug
and right next to it is a 4 pin black plug

they should be easy to find
i have one but black plastic piece where the wiring plug goes on is broken
pins are still ok and it still works but try find a better one

Turns out MXC10 Avalon is the same...


Anyway 1JZGTE (non VVTi) is definitely the same. You should be able to find one without too much trouble.

As per my own experience, igniters for all toyota vvti JZ's (ok, not actually all but those without direct fuel injection) are interchangeable.

Going the other way around, my catalog suggests 89621-22020/30 as original part# (JZS147) and modern replacement 89620-24080 . Googling this results in quite informative page
