The xmember bolt spacing and stuff will be the same. The engine bay is slightly shorter. Width wise they are identical or as good as identical (i don't have exact measurements) seeing as they'll both take the same front strut bar.
Eddie.
i've done a bit of searching but came up with not alot i remeber reading a while ago but cant be 100% sure so my question is,
is the ae86/ke70 cross member identical as in bolt patterns etc, and is the engine bay of similar size or identical.
the reason i ask is... im thinking of entering the world of rwd but want to have a play around with dummy fitting my 3sgte into a ke70 as a mate has one lieing around
so any help / info is muchly appreciated, im well aware of what is involved in the conversion and dont really need reminding

remember though that the crossmembers ARE different!!
Just grab an AE71 crossmember to give yourself a "virtual" AE86 engine bay
...... butt scratcher?!
ohhk so ke70 engine bay , ae71 x member and is identical pretty much to an ae86 bay

Width is the same, AE71 Xmember and AE86 Xmember are the same. I've checked both of these little details. If you make up your mounts in a KE70, you should be fine.
