depends on the car and the application.

In some cases, the stock leads are sometimes better.

you mean the V grooved NGK spark plugs?
NGK claims a slight improvement, but in practice, you will probably never notice... maybe in higher boost there is slightly better access from flame ball to the rest of the mixture, but no idea if it is quantifiable on practise.
in that respect, Pt/Ir plugs have an advantage.. but not for cost....

i run normal or V-grooved plugs depending on what is there at the time

or are you talking abotu the ones with multiple ground electrodes?

i remember them.. Spliftire spark plugs and spliffire leads..

the plugs had V shaped heads on them.. and the leads were twin core for dual firing path, 8.8mm if i'm not mistaken.. the company is still around and their products are still good however research has indicated that the spark on a single head is better than the V one and a lot better than Bosch's super 4.. they last longer as well or something

i've used splitfire plugs and leads on my old corolla 1989 AE hatch which was running a 4A-F carburettor 1.6 and it gave a fair bit of fuel economy and kick in performance.. well coz i used to sell them back in those days. However NOLOGY came in shortly after and were good competition on the plug scene. Splitfire had a triple platinium option though which was really expensive stuff

was as good as a performance plug could get but then it's just plugs.. nowadays everything's very similar. copper core, iridium / platinium tip yada yada...

Thanx doods the plugs are on ebay if you search spark plugs(sorry, dont know how to do links).I figured at the price,if they were fairly good, theyd be a bargain.Thet would be going on a 7age,no real mods just yet and 7.7mm silicon leads (cant remember what brand).

    cheers joe
