Had my bonnet cap fabricated and radiator plate remade, collected my cooling pipe with the sensors installed, and fitted it all up. The radiator plate represented a saving of 1.63kgs over the old unit. Loctited the vacum nipples on the the manifold and the idle manifold. Plugged up the old sender and heater connections on the back of the head. Did the sump mod finally. Just scrubbed the engine bay so I can paint it this week.

Also had my headers corrected as far as the phases go, and that pulled them block wards a little, so I had a slight s bend added to the lower pipe to put the flange back where it belongs. I also had Macs mufflers fit a wideband o2 sensor bung there for me as well. I purchased the two gaskets I need and they also helped me straighten the header flange and bolt the headers down to my spare head to let them pull straight again. Then I linished it so it will seal up properly.

Ive since raubbed them back and painted them in flameproof silver, as has the sensor pipe with the senders and heater barb loctited in.

Anyone good with paint in the Brisbane North area wanto to come and help me paint the bay?

Primer laid down, 3 coats. Mucho buildo. If I can rub it back without seeing any metal come through Ill just go straight to the top coat. Got a painter mate who can lay down the metallic nicely for me. A well spent 6 hours. Doesn't take too long when you have a good orbital sander, flap disc, stripper wheel paint thinners and prepsol all ready to go.

Noticed the rails have had some rust repairs done both sides right at the front. Nothing much really. I'm in doubts about painting the whole car. Ill keep it tidy-ish, but might just paint bonnet and hatch and then if it looks ok Ill leave it. I dont want it looking too much more attention getting than the average adm. But when you pop the bonnet you will pop your clogs.

Polished the rad top piece too. Needs a cream polish to come up mirrored.

Top coat probably Tuesday. Wanna give it a day or two to harden up fully then a light rub down.

    Cheers Mate.

Well not much to report except the fact that I have all the blue plates and rwc now. Off to rego soon and then to the Dyno for a full power map and some tuning of the vvti system. Might go borrow my mates 2azfe camry and datalog it for a while to steal its soul.

My good matye Justin the auto eleccy is tied up for a few weeks so I will probably try to do the remaining small wiring jobs today. It needs the dash harness connected and the senders for the after market gauges connected. I also need to fit the wideband. I might try to get all the physical electronics sorted so that I can look at the software then try to run it. Oh I also need to connect the idle controller and the purge solenoid up, but thats easy too.

Im waiting on some slack ass machinists to make me some diff bush adapters then i can drive it after they go in.
