Has anyone tried this? I am a huge fan of n/a diesels, and the 1HZ must be one of the best (bit of a Land Cruiser man, me). But I think it could be slightly more powerful if fitted with the SOHC 24-valve head of the 80-series LC turbodiesel, before the electronic injection systems. I would still not turbo the engine, though.

I had a 62-series gasser with a 1HZ diesel transplanted in. The 1HZ was almost identical in output to the 3F engine, so the diesel ratios weren't missed. Sad day when I had to sell it. But I'm ready to do it again. Perhaps with the 100-series full-time 4WD tranfer case this time.
