I am so there. AM session if available

So just a query - what's the final breakdown for classes given this is the last event? And will there be trophies?

Also will top gear go by classes or do we just mail the trophy to the dude with the stupidly quick evo?
RA40 Coupe - Even more Turbo beating ponies.

Maybe I'll need to consider one of these in future to stop lifting my front wheel under hard acceleration

Well, as per the Supp Regs, we'll have 3 classes as below which I show as A, B and C in the Results Spreadsheet for the Series Rankings. The Top Gear board is intended to list the fastest overall, regardless. But, I'll check with others about whether there'll be any class break-down for that too, in terms of awards as I don't believe that was the intent.

Someone else was organising the prizes, so I need to check what the specific prizes are, but trophies were discussed.

    8 CLASSES
8.1 Classes for end of series classification/results will be as below, with a modifier being applied for engine capacity calculations for supercharged/turbocharged/rotary engined vehicles:
    - up to 2000cc
    - 2000cc to 4000cc
    - over 4000cc
8.2 The following modifiers will be applied when determining classes:
    - Turbo Charging and Supercharging: Modifier: 1.7
    - Rotaries: Modifier: 1.8
8.3 Class results will only be done for series results. At each individual event, positions will simply be listed according to times achieved.

    10 RESULTS
10.1 Timings will be recorded for participants, including the application for any penalties incurred.
10.2 Modifiers as in the Classes section will be used for series results calculations.
10.3 To be eligible for normal series result prizes, you must have competed in at least 4 events in the series.
10.4 The Top Gear board rankings are separate to the normal series results, and entrants are eligible having completed in at least 1 event. That is, all entrants are eligible for awards for the Top Gear board at the end of the series.

Remember that Phil's Soarer is supercharged now, so needs to be moved in the 'A' class.

Aarrghhhh - went to renew diff side seals this arvo (got genuine ones from Amayama) and discovered that the buggers that put my new diff centre in 5 years ago couldn't be stuffed using the correct seals, so they pressed in a ring, put a smaller crappier seal in, and machined down the diameter of the stub axles to fit!! Took me and a mate hours to bash out the stupid steel reducing ring they had pressed in.
Hence there is no way the existing stub axles will work with the OEM seal.
Lucky I have a spare diff - but I am so cheesed off they would do this without even telling me.
Stay away from WA Diff Centre.
Hopefully the spare stub axles will work ok and I should be there!

Well that kinda depends... As I've already done two events in the n/a black one, and possibly this final one too if I can't get the track car fixed in time...

Would be nice to have a proper crack at Jeremy's TG time though!

Don't forget the round in the camry...that has to balance out the SC, surely!

I'm heading down for this one, looks like I'll be in Decade (again) unless some bloody parts arrive!

What's the plan for the series after this event? I'm hanging out for more!

$5k for a Sat, Sun or Public Holiday hire of Barbagallo? $200 each if we can get 25 people. Sounds reasonable.

I'll check the entry details, and the results. But, yes, if a car was modified such that it now fits into another class or another car used is/was used at an event with a different classification, that events results are treated as a separate, different classification listing in the Series Results. However, using a car that meets the same class classification can be used between different events.

For example, that's what happened when I drove the NA Mazda 3 (class C) versus SPIDA (class B), which are listed separately.

AFAIK the next season will be at the same location, starting pretty much right away after a small break, and instead of each month, will be every second month. That was the plan, at least a little while ago now.

    RAC would be more expensive.

The RAC circuit would be cool, but the RAC skidpan is crap compared to the one we have! I think Phil is right too: on the weekends they run commodores on it, and even to hire it during the week, you only get 2 hours or so.
