Haha Joshua I did forget about that, I don't think the g/f would be too happy though!
Ill be there AM. Email sent. I have done 3 sessions in the mr2, 2 in the evo. So will I need to bring the mr2 as the evo wouldnt have made 4 events?
Phil I think you are forgetting the last ride you can bring...the falcon station wagon!!!
Im in agreeance with a few of the others and Gene. I think we keep it as is (venue and series) and run any other events in addition. Im super keen and appreciative for this type of stuff.

Hi,
I've updated the Current Entry List spreadsheet (as linked from the first post) to include all entrants as I understand them now. If there's something wrong, let me know ASAP. In terms of payment receipts, the Treasurer is yet to reconcile the receipt of payments column, so that may not be accurate.
However, if you have not paid by now, YOU MUST pay on the day as we will not be able to confirm receipt if it's not there now.
Cheers
Gene

Congratulations to class winners and runners-up, shown in green and orange respectively.
Duane Joubert put in an impressive performance on the Top Gear layout to seize top position on the Top Gear board in the final round. To the cheers of the Toyota and 2WD fans out there. Jeremy Pavlovich had blitzed the field in his Mitsubishi EVO from event one until being overtaken in the last round.
TECCWA are in the process of organising the prizes and will be announcing the time/venue for the awards presentations.
Thanks for making the first TECCWA Autokhana Series a great success. It proves we can do it, and with some tweaks for Series 2, we'll be making announcements soon.

Damn, now I really wish I had been able to hang around to watch the arvo session! Good to see a Toyota take top spot on the Toyota car club board.![]()

Then - 1989 MX83 - The big scrap heap in the sky...
Well done Joshua!
And big thanks to Gene, Christian, Rudi, Aaron and whoever else helped organise the series
Hopefully next series I'll be able to run with just one, unbroken car....
I'm having thoughts that perhaps the A class kicked-in a little high at over 4L. That, combined with many in that class not completing the required 4 events, left only one winner with no runner up.
I'm thinking that perhaps it should kick-in at something like 3.8L, which would be where NA capacity would kick-in to match a Forced-Induction 2000cc car with the 1.7 multiplier. This would also move a lot of the V8 Toyota guys into the same class. However, it wouldn't distinguish NA from Forced-Induction in that capacity range.
Alternatively, or perhaps in addition to that, we could actually separate NA from Forced-Induction cars, and probably AWD (somehow).
I've created a separate thread for comments and a poll, so feel free to leave comments, vote or make suggestions.
If the capacity had been set to 3.8L instead, that would have put Adam Barry and Robin Mullet in contention for A class. I'm tempted to do that, and let Aaron Woodward retain the official win based on what had been set?
I'm also tempted to do whole 100cc roundings too, such that 1588cc=1600cc, 3998cc=4000cc, etc. to eliminate that level of precision/manipulation of capacities.
Cheers

I take no credit, I did a smidge here and there, put up facebook events and such but really nothing compared to what the others did! Kudos to everyone who helped out.
Hmmm I dont think the 4L 1UZ boys should be in A, they aren't THAT fast and considering that a 2L N/A just took Top Gear outright? Maybe it should be approximate power to weight?
So technically I won B and the series outright hey? Interesting.

Pretty sure there is a rule somewhere that says you can only win the series outright if you are driving a Toyota
With the series rankings etc - because there are events with different tracks and hence different average times - and also the possibility of varying weather (ie rain!) maybe switch to a points based system?
Top 10 cars in each class get 10 through 1 points. Best score from your top 4 (or N/2+1) events wins? Just a thought.
