Im currently in the process of importing a race rally 81 in and im hoping I can use my air con licence as I think jzx81s are charged with r134 its a 1991 model so any help with it would be appreciated im praying to the toyota gods its not r12![]()

haha nnnooooo itll be coming out just saves me having it degassed in japan its alloootttt easier using an aircon licence than having to deal with dept of environment and heritage lol![]()
Being 1991 I can't see it using R134a, I think Denso started with in HFC-134 in 1992 so I would guess that it would be using R12.

Yeah they are well anything charged with r12 is, the new gas can be left in and used under a special licence see the 91 aristos I bought in have been r134 so I was kinda hoping a 91 chaser would be the same

they run the older style of gas mate... I know thing because to get mine working here i need to have the dryer changed along with a few other things ...... hope this helps...

Yeh i would say they are R12, seeming as my 92 Cressida was R12, and they were made in jap land

Hi,
1991 in Toyota would definitely have an R12 System. It was
around 1993-1994 that all those cars would have switched to R134a
as those year models I've seen with factory fitted R134a Valves.
