Default 72 ta22 20v silvertop Epic countdown to emerald

    Here goes,
I figured i better start a thread on my car for a few reasons, motivation and I knew shit all about cars when I got my ta22 4years ago, not much better now haha

So here's the deal with the little fella,
    It's a baby shit brown 72 ta22 flatlight,
the body is fairly good, few crappy bits here and there, nothing that can't be fixed
It came with a tired 2t motor a t50 gearbox that couldn't get 2nd or 4th and a diff as noisy as my grandma when she's lost her hearing aids
But I still loved it despite what everyone said and no matter how manny times my mum offered to crush it for me, and my brother named it doriene (in memory of the ugliest girl hes ever met) I simply said, you'll be jealous one day

Ok so here's what I've done so far (fuck all) haha

    - I purchased a ta22-4a rack and pinon crossmember off samQ about 2years ago (he does a good job)
    - brought a 4age 20v silvertop
    - bolted it in
    - brougt a w58 gearbox and a Bellhousing to suit
    - bolted the belhousing and the gearbox together
    - had a beer and called it a day

Now as you can see I really hav'nt done much, I do have a couple of excuses called work and girlfriend but since nearly everyone has atleast one of thoes I guess it's time for me to pull my finger out

I want to drive it every day, so big power isn't really as important as reliability, I still want to show most people who's boss tho haha

So I live in Sydney until crissy and then I'm moving to emerald qld so the clocks on to get it running and driving before then, so this count down needs a name, the epic countdown to emrald

Ok so here's what I think is left to do before I can do burnouts,
    - cooling system
    - I'm going to purchase the samQ items
    - radiator, fan and all that gear
    - wiring loom
    - this has me screwd at the moment, I have the ta22 loom and the 20v loom just no idea on how to put them together
    - fuel system
    - as I'm pretty much running a standard 20v I don't need anything too special but that's as far as my knowledge goes whith fuel systems
    - clutch
    - probably just a 20v preassure plate with a 22spline hiace clutch plate, not sure about throwout bearings or master/slave cyl tho
    - tailshaft and diff
    - so I have a tailshaft that goes from a W5x box to a t seires diff (praying it's the right length), I have a shitty t diff on the floor in my shed and the one on my car isnt a t series and sounds like it's about to let go
    - gearbox
    - standard w58 with a bill shearwood housing
    - I need a new shifter as it's been snapped off short

Ok so I think that's about it, I know it's alot in a short amount of time but hey it wouldn't be the epic count down to emerald without all that

What I'm asking of you lot is that I would love feedback of any kind, help at every headache and dead end and peer pressure to get off my ass and finish my toy off so I can make my mum jealous haha

Thanks everyone will try and post pics soon
    Josh

how did u go with the dizzy fitment
    does it hit the firewall
20v looms are pretty basic just abit fiddly with modding them when going rear wheel drive
did u label the ta22 wires when u removed them off the old motor
this helps alot otherwise u need to work out what wires are on the ta22
or if u work on toyotas often u have them imbedded into your skull hehehe

Well when the old loom came out, my mate and I had quite a few cold ones to ease the stress haha i was thinking I would just save up and pay someone with all the wiring gear hey, alot of stuff has to be moved aswell being that it's still a fwd loom, what do you recon bud?
