Clevite 77tri-metals and ACL race series I can vouch for. Anything else I haven't used yet, or not been impressed with (for example, the ACL standard bearings are def. poo).
Just wondering which brand of engine bearings you guys use ? My 3sge race engine has some cheap bearings but I was told to use Clevite 77 for conrod bearings $90 a set. Anyone have suggestions ?
Thanks

If there's one thing I know, it's never to mess with mother nature, mother in-laws and mother freaking Ukrainians
I used ACL race series in my 3S-GTE build.. No problems as of yet![]()
ACL or Clevite are the two choices. either way there cheap and very good

lmao! there the goodlyest bestly bearing thingo that ia muchly likey be himselfy
my 3s-ge has just spun a bearing. so i'm considering replacing them with a better set of bearings.
As they say in the book, assembly is the reverse of dismantling, but slower cos you forgot where all the bits are
just go ACL
King bearings are okay, although they are probably a bit to tough. You may damage your crank before the bearing!
i vote for ACL bearings too. used them in many rebuilds.
I'm using clevite 77s in my new engine, hey, if theyre good enough for NASCAR...

Ah well, old pushrod engines and carbies or not, they still rev like there's no tomorrow! (as far as V8s go anyway)Originally Posted by kingmick
