Shane, just to clear some confusion.
I'm the admin that gave you rep. At the time, I didn't know my rep power was 10.

I don't love you that much!
So when I found out my rep power, I changed it to a +1.

As for the lack of rep comments, I'd really like to see if there's an option to make the comments mandatory. I'll get back to y'all on this.

This rep stuff is bullshit as far as I'm concerned.

I have 2 plusses and 2 minuses. One of the minuses didnt even have a reason, though I suspect it was because I joked about fitting a honda vtec head to a 4a and the asshole had no sense of humor. And the other was because I corrected a mistake I'd made in a prior post.
Sure I made a mistake, but if people are punished for correcting a mistake, what's the point in correcting it? I would have been better off leaving the error there.

I'll stick my hand up and say this was me. I think you're missing the point. The neg rep wasn't for correcting the mistake, but for posting significantly misleading info you hadn't confirmed. And you didn't correct the mistake, another user did.

I hope this helps to explain things and moderate your annoyance.

A quick heads up on Rep points.

Rep points are not supposed to be asked for or called for. The idea is they are EARNT be it possitive or negative. People found whoring rep out to each other just to increase there rep level wil have any "Ill gotten" rep removed from them ! Forum members cannot see who gave who rep but admins can. (And no we won't etelling people who did what to who, this isn't a tit for tat system)

Its a two fold system, you post good content, you get postive rep, you weild a bigger stick. You act like a tool, you get neg rep and your ability to effect other peoples rep dwindles to zip.

Its almost funny, on the old forums the mods were accused of being Nazi's and received critisizm and abuse. With these new forums we have implemented a system to help them self regulate and guess what we still have complaints. Well here is the nutshell in my personal opinion. We can't please everyone all the time. If you have some constructive feedback (Positive or negative) or ligitimate questions about the rep system then don't hold back, let us know. If you wanna bitch and whinge about the system. F#@K off to another forum ! (Was that to blunt ? )

Simple fact is the system is here, we believe it will work better than if we didn't have it.



The old Toymods forums became an stain on the clubs existance thanks to allot of reasons and as a result some of the best Toyota Based tech info available on the web was overshadowed. We won't be letting that happen again.

carrying on like a tool will upset people in different ways, some will just choose to ignore you, others will give you negative rep. If you keep your content higher then your rep will build back up.

There isn't an anti fun policy but it needs to be in the right place and appropriate.

As for what happens when you get to negative rep..... Nothing automatically, BUT people will notice your rep and the mods/admin/me will assess your contribution to the forums Your benefit here will be weighed up and you just might find yourself banned. And yes there has already been a banning on that basis !

I might like to point out that while it was quoted in the reply to my message I never said "might be the fact that you keep posting useless crap" in relation to Evan or anyone else. All I suggested was a technical contribution would be more likely to improve his rep.
