your confusing me now... the box that originally came with you car from toyota, which you pulled in favour of a supra 5 cog, will have the speedo drive that you need, be it cable or electronic... unless you are converting your speedo from cable to electronic.
Im confused![]()

when i replaced my 7MGTE i swapped out the gearbox with it...
what got me was... the two gearboxes used different speed sensors...
right now i have one connected, working perfectly, and another zip tied to the chassis...
im really confused now... thinking about it, because the one i couldnt use, im not sure if its connected tot he chassis or bolted to the gearbox in some way (like a brace, or guides for the wires...?)
because i removed the old speedo drive from the box i removed, and put that intot he new gearbox, and connected that up and it all works....1?!??!
i am teh confusered now....
although im pretty sure the new gearbox was from an analouge dash, whereas my old one was from my car, with digi dash...
my head hurts :/
Eldar.O.
Always retain the speed sensor from your old box when doing a box conversion... i think thats the lesson here. Good ol Mr Toyota seems to have made the speedo sensor slots in the boxes universal.
