    Default Ae112R timing /performance issues

HI, been having issues with the wife's Ae112 for some time, with the dealers teling us nothing is wrong.
She was driving it home one day , suddenly lost power and exhaust note changed. When she got home , sh etold me, I took it for a test drive and after driving 30 metress down the road couls feel something wrong.

It wa stsill under warranty, and was taken to several dealers who simply plugged in the scan tool , said there are no fault codes so nothing wrong ( one actually adjuste dthe kickdown to th epoint where just squeezing the throttle at 80km/hr would cause it to go into 2nd gear).
exhaust wa schecked by 3rd party nad supposedly muffelrs and Cat ok.

The thing was so bad I was scared driving it across intersections.
I ended up checking the timing myself and found initial advance was only 5 degrees instead of 10. set it to 10 degrees and got a bit of top end back.
It still won't do over 120Km/h on a cold night on the M7, the exhaust has turned blus e to beyond the first muffler now. fuel consuption has been uo 20% since the issue started.

during another diagnosis attempt recently, I noticed when I put the jumper between E1 and TE1 , the timing was at the correct at 10 degtrees BTDC, however after removing the jumper, instead of advancing an additional 3-12 degress as per the manual I had, it retarded to between 5 degrees BTDC to about 5 degrees ATDC.
I have tried to connect to the OBD2 port with Techstream ( works a treat on 2003 Camry V6), tried connecting
CarTester800 ( english edition) to TDCL port under the bonnent but can't read the ECU. Techstream does have the Autsralian AE112 in its configuration, but I have no idea how to connect.
I lastly tried to read fault codes today, and I though they were 14,24,31,99 if I was reading them correctly. No engine check light comes on during normal driving.
Obviously something is causing the ECU to retard the spark. Oxygen sensor waveform and response look ok according to Toyota service bulletins.

Any one encountered these symptoms before or have any suggestions. Any idea on connecting Techstream or similar would also help?

    Thanks
    Wayne.

    What's the compression, wet&dry?
'I've scrapped better.' John stated when asked about the car by the guy with the silver tipped cowboy boots!

Sorry, don't have the current figures, but a couple of years after the issue
occurred is was checked by two different Toyota Dealers and an Independant
organisation, and was well within spec.
Don't forget the problem occurred in an engine with approximately 35000 miles ,
meticusly maintened and only driven by a lady 99% of the time . Are you thinking
rings or burnt valves? There is no excessive oil consumption, no abnormal smoke,
Spark Plugs always show a good colour.
