First 3UZ-FE conversion maybe?

Right I forgot that 3UZ-FE (unlike VVTI 1UZ-FE) uses 2nd gen ETCS-i with pedal sensor being separate from throttle assembly. But it doesn't need ignition block, it runs COP's. Also, transponder and security ECU is the same part, and buying it new simplifies things a bit, like dumbass earlier said.

That's a strange thing that engine swap kits are imported without critical parts named above. Maybe the importers are just unaware? So one can ask them explicitly for the necessary parts?

400 for immob ecu
150 maybe for key
150 for key reader
then couple hundred bucks if u have hassles getting the key to program

no one on the forums is going to buy these parts new
when doing landcrusiers its 10 grand for just motor and all the electricals to get it going
only top end players get these types of conversions done hehehehe

if those keys are genuine ill eat a donkeys dick heheeh
u always have to be careful with chinese clone keys
they are hit and miss and i tell customer to supply key if they want chinese clone key
had issues with nissan and only way i fixed it was with genuine key

anyway if its your own car i guess chinese clone is ok

im now trying to fond a 1uz vvti ecu to buy if anyone has one

Which one? Crown 155 and late Lexus LS400/SC400 are very similar. Crown 175 ECU is quite different in pinout. I got one spare UZS175 ECU for training purposes

I referenced Dealextreme only as quick and dirty example. In my area glass-packed chips (without blade) are offered for under $30 (depending on chip model, price can be about $10), never had any issues with them so far.

fyi: security ecu is the same for any 1uz vvti (i tried one from ls400 and it worked with pre-1999 and post-1999 toyota crown ecu as well). It does not need any sort of synchronization like systems using 4D chip key.

also, seems like uzs155 and ls400 ecu's are pin to pin compatible

have u used that blue toyota programmer
ive got the orange one and it doesnt work on most toyotas
only works on ones with immob chip built inside main engine ecu
this one says it can be used on landcruisers im just wondering how true this is

afaik those orange units are very different though they do look the same.

I didn't personally try this exact blue unit BUT in my area you can buy "good" orange unit for about $100 and it will do vehicles with separate immob. ECU.
I even had a nice offering, $120 including delivery and test on any vehicle in our workshop.

p/s pre-1999 landcruisers (and maybe up to 2003) are 4C-based and they are only done manually

i have a chip reader now just need to get a programmer so i can program the key from the dump in the immo ecu
just need to find key programmer that will do 4c and 4d chips

For 4C keys, car make is not important. I can program mitsubishi galant key into toyota crown for example.
Also with 4C keys you don't have to buy key programmer.
Initially you need one key with known code (many options here)
Then you put it manually into eeprom as master key
Then erase all the sub keys (also several options here)
Read eeprom
Add a key
Read eeprom again and now you know new key's code

So you only need a spare ECU modified for easy eeprom replacement.

We did this 3UZ-fe about a year and a bit ago. There was a running V6 in this Vigo which we pulled.

We kept it mated with the A650e auto and used the stock ECM. Cruise control we got to work and we used the vigos accelerator pedal.

No go with the AC and the temp guage thru the ECM as that was running thru the CAN system.

Other than that it all worked pretty well and the thing is still on the road. We did a scan on it with the intelligent tester 2 the other day via the OBD and all well.

Would say the same that at this point the 1UZ vvt-i is much more bang for your buck as to get past the security on this job did cost.

Just a quick question. What did you guys do about that rear gearbox mount ? I see you welded the box to the exhaust with that cross bracket.

You guys made any head way with the 3UZ-fe six speed yet ?

No, it's too expensive as a full kit. We have locally produced transmission ECU that can control the A650, in theory it's capable of shifting A761, too, but there was no opportunity so far to check it. In fact, even 3UZ conversion only happened by chance cause engine+gearbox+security kit was twice more expensive compared to 1uz's we usually install.

Rear gearbox mount: we always make custom one, taking stock plate with rubber pieces and welding the rest to it.

Btw I have a couple questions, too. Where do you source engines and what do you do to them before installing?
