ae86 sprinter steering column replacement

hey guys, just trying to find some info for a friend. they are rebuilding a ae86 sprinter and they want to replace the steering column with one that has the head light and wiper controls on the stalk not the dash. if anyone knows what would be a easy swap please let me know.

nobodies replaced the steering column with anything else????

ae71 would probably be the most logical column to look at initially, but I've never done a swap or know of anyone else doing it.

Excuse me for asking, but why are they choosing to change it? Removing dash? either way post up progress if it's that big a buildthat it involves those types of changes would make a great read.

thanks matty. a mate is putting a F20C out of a Honda S2000 into an ae86. he has totally gutted the car at the moment and wants to update the dash a bit so thats why he's after a new steering column. i'll let him know about the ae71
