Default 2jz pumping out fuel issue

so i have an issue, my car has started missing on idle and pumping out fuel of the exhaust.

it was running sweet prior, happened on full boost, hesitated hard and then the issue developed.

2jz non-vvti running a power fc map sensored

i pulled the plugs to find they had fouled, no surprise there, but also the wiring loom was perished and cracked from heat cycling so i soldered in new wiring, with new coil plugs. also chucked in some new plugs.

compression tested it while the plugs were out and its got great compression.

i'm thinking maybe the map sensor is cactus ? does anyone know if its located in the ecu like in commodores, or is it perhaps elsewhere?

any other ideas would be appreciated cheers

Map sensor should be attached to the intake manifold. In the middle of engine side with 3wire plug iirc.

the one with green label in the middle. If its fubar you can use a 1jz sensor as their readouts are the same.

Missing at idle, so what! Does it miss under a load accelerating and/or crusing?????
Other then black smoke, IT IS NOT pumping fuel out the exhaust!

could have a leaking injector/s causing it to pump more fuel then necessary, check the injector duty on the power fc see it it's above normal

i swapped the map sensor off a mates aristo, no change.

when i say its missing at idle, its idling like an absolute dog and is literally spitting fuel out the exhaust. give it a rev and there is a big, noticeable cloud of smoke.

it doesn't go away when revving/on load.

ben rix you might possibly be onto it with the leaky/faulty injector idea mate, i'm not a hundred percent what the injector duty cycle was when it was running mint, but just on idle its at about 5%, and a free rev puts it to almost 40%. these are eight hundred cc sards. when i had it down the track i think full boost was using like 60% from memmory. so 40% on a no-load free rev is definately not right.

i might pull the plug on each of the injectors one at a time tomorrow and see how it goes.

please if anyone has any other suggestions i'd like to hear them.

well unfortunately its not the injectors. i had them tested and they all came back with perfect results. i also tried coils/ignitor/map sensor with no luck.

i might try plugging in a standard 2j ecu and see how it idles.

sounds like the tune has gone fkt or your apexi is fkt
or apexi isnt getting the correct map signal

i would plug an apexi handset into it and read what the sensors are doing

and a miss at idle is fking important for diagnosing
if my car had miss at idle id fking want it fixed
