The only downside was a few niggly issues that stopped me getting as much time on the full slicks as i would have liked to get back in the groove. Hopefully i can have them sorted by tomoz as i'm back at WP again.
because the gt8's not basically a stripped out racecar right ?

Not even close. No carpet and fixed back seats do not a track car make

Ended up being a good day weather wise. First run was super slippery - 2nd & 3rd not much better. Just alternating between under and oversteer - not to mention traction optional...

Still ended up with a 49.05 on 4th run. Was a bit off pb of 48.86, but I was actually faster around the track proper, just couldn't get off the line and on the track cleanly...

The other Todd was having a blinder in the WRX - was fastest tin-top at the end of the 4th run. Then Mark Guyer got serious, put his good tyres on the GTR (the silver one, not the ex-BSM car - must be nice to have a choice of race cars) and thumped Todd.

Malcolm Oastler set a new club record at 40.58. Damn! Next run it pinged the sound meter, the run after that as it entered the track proper it came to a stop - turns out one of the halfshafts had twisted and bent.

Was a good day, 6 runs and almost perfect weather - just needed a little more warmth in the track.

Oh, and a Toyota took out a class record. The little Corolla AWD with a 60.57...

That run is disqualified, no time recorded.

Edit: Also, you have to effect a physical change to quieten it and get it scrutineered before they allow you to do any further runs.
