Wakefield Park Track Day - Friday 22nd of June!!

I'm already covered for the fuel cost , but I'd love to do a day at EC.
Been working on getting the other engine in, so extra grunt would be nice. Was hitting the top of 3rd at WP on Friday (about an indicated 140km/h).

edit: And I've got to get rid the stupid rear drums on my car...

i woul;d LOVE to do an EC day. so make sure you dont organise one for at least a couple months so I can get the faildub running again first

prob need to finish off my brake upgrade before i go there too... Im guessing i would be pushing around the 220/230 mark coming into turn 1??

Turn 1 isn't an issue for brakes it is turn 2, 11 & 15 that you need them for.

LOVE the idea, and will definitely be in - must organise some brake ducting before then though, or I get the feeling I'll be doing 3 lap stints.

Yeah brakes aren't required that much for turn 1, it's one of the fastest corners in the country! I don't lift going in there. You know who else doesn't lift going in there? This guy (use sound!);

Well, I spent yesterday cutting my home made cage out of the dato. Will be heading to Andrews race cars Friday to get some new bars bent, then I have 1 month to get it back together.
The theory is that I might do Irace at eastern creek in early august.
EC has a open l2S day in November if you have a cams licence - only $135 I think.
Did a HSV day a little while ago there and that was 210 and there were 100 cars.
If we are gonna try to keep numbers at around 40 expect to double your normal track fees.
In saying that, i love/hate EC. It is such a technical track, apex's are so late.
I reckon I could fill probably 10 spots if you want to organize a day there.

So a mate did the superbike school at Eastern Creek over the weekend - after reading this i think it might be time for me to organise a day there and bring you lot along; interested? Don't expect it to be anywhere near as cheap at WP, but think of the reduced fuel and accommodation costs to offset it...

Hmm, free entry for 'photographers'? I've been to the creek way back in the late 90s with a mate for a bike day before I had a camera. I do remember a great view off the top of the pits tho...

Generally with Eastern creek you just give your details at the gate and can come in and spectate for free at private days. Looking at joining the ARDC myself, the new club house and facilities available in the revamp are amazing. Fee is nothing as you get entry into a fair few events which more then pays for it.

My issue isn't the amount of brakes (my front pads are rally spec custom cut jobbies and have never faded- or seemingly worn for that matter), but the balance.
The drums are just so inconsistent. They're not self adjusting and have been copping a hammering from the numerous motorkhanas I've been doing this year.
Not sure until I get the results but I think I was the fastest full body car on Sunday.

So anyone else going to be doing full ground effects work on their cars...

To the guys who drive the gray AW11 and gray SW20, have a close look at the front on photos of both yours and Shanes Corolla (for example), not that Im an expert, but from the day it looks like you could both benefit from some more camber on the front. Prob way impractical for everyday use, but I reckon it would help your front end grip for track days.
(And the blue RX3 needed more as well)

I still have 250 odd photos of the red LS powered 280Z, his mate in the ute and a few spins left, I may put them up in two weeks or so, so save the stuff you like!
