Will confirm when I arrange a tow car. Got the MS65 but not sure if it will be up to it.
AW11 - 1988 Red ADM 4AGZE conversion +
MZW11 - 1987 Track car - "Ag-Spec Racing 1" - 1MZ powered AW11
ST246 - 2002 Caldina GT-Four 'N-Edition'
MS65 - 1973 Bash Car bash.skyracing.tv/
Yup, motor looks awesome.
PS Things looking up, engine/driveline back in car and turbo setup being trial fitted ready to send off for Fabrication. One hurdle is the gate I supplied is too big physically so will probably have to swap to a nice compact TiAL unit instead. Meh it's only money haha.
If in doubt power out
I've been having troubles finding an uprated clutch. Asked 3 different shops to find me something.
I can understand people not really modifying an Elantra, but to have someone tell me I have to resort to a full custom built clutch is a bit ridiculous (especially when 5 mins Googling comes up with 2 Exedy versions). It's only an NA <1000kg car, not a twin turbo V8 or something
Can people give me some honest opinions about having a button clutch? I've never had one before, so trying to work out the pros/cons for trackwork/motorkhanas (including dirt)/possibly hillclimb.
I've got a dirt motorkhana coming up on 3 June, so should be ready for Wakefield
Unless the engine is significantly modified what's wrong with a standard one? Or slightly uprated exedy 'heavy duty' one? Bit more pressure should be all you need.

Thanks Garth. Came to a bit of that conclusion myself.
The LSD is installed with a stronger gearbox but not yet ready for the larger engine to go in yet. There is a possiblity of forced induction at some point. Even then, the limit's prob going to be around 150kW at the flywheel. So standard's not good enough, but the button clutch would be overkill.
I couldn't get drvieshafts as thick as those which match the gearbox, but I've got a 250kg weight advantage over that car, plus significantly shorter shafts, so that's ok.
Just with the low number of kms being done now, the clutch is highly unlikely to get worn out so didn't really want to be throwing money at it unnecessarily.
Now I've just got to figure out how to remove the thrust bearing from the pressure plate (pull clutch) so that pressure plate can be reused...
ok so i made a bet with an Audi RS4, BMW M3 and an ISF that i would beat them, so i may be at this day just for practice. i will ask them to come to this day but hopefully i get some more time to practice before i lose my dignity.

New gearbox is in, just need to bleed the clutch & fill all the fluids tomorrow to make sure it works (wasn't as hard as I thought to fit the clutch fork to a previously used pull clutch pressure plate).
Then I'll be able to confirm my attendance.
still a maybe for the moment garth. after talking to you about it on friday night i am very keen, but would really like to get the stack dash in first so i can see if somethings about to explode before it explodes...
and if i can swing it, the 4.77 in the rear![]()
N/A for life...
this makes me even sadder about not having the adub ready
edit; money coming your way garth. i need me another trackday even if it is only in the nissaids...
