Oh, and I'm thinking of rounding actual capacities to the nearest 100cc, so 1588cc=1600cc and 3998cc=4000cc for example, so as to remove that level of precision.
Following the successful completion of the TECCWA Red Mist Autokhana Series 1, we'll be starting to review things to improve for Series 2. On that note, I thought I'd create a poll on some thoughts regarding classes.
The poll does allow multiple selections, so you could choose separate classes for AWD and keep classes as they are.

Agree on the rounding
Disagree on the n/a, turbo classes. There are too few people in some existing classes as it is, last thing you want to do is split everyone up even more when the 1.7 equivalency factor is tried and tested, just stick with that
Having said that, there is no equivalency factor for AWD and given that they do have a bit of an advantage especially them AYC cheatermobilesi agree with them being in a separate class
Rounding capacities sounds good. At the end of the day the classes are there to group cars with similar performance together - if it is doing the job then there is little need to change.
Re the NA vs Forced/Wankelers - Most of the people running are forced induction, there are no forced induction cars in under 2L (where most NA is), and the 4L are smack in he middle of the 2L turbos (as per the class design).
It wouldn't achieve much other than have the 2L turbos by themselves?
RA40 Coupe - Even more Turbo beating ponies.

I'm against seperate classes for awd because I don't think there's enough awd. I don't wanna compete with only Jeremy if he ever returns. Or worse a class just with me.
In lieu I'm happy for you all to point fingers at me and make comments about juicing.
lol fair point
maybe hold off on a separate class until we get more than one regular competitor? CALLING ALL GT4/CALDINA OWNERS.....
AWD is separate in other forms of club level motorsport (MC Series at PIA for example) but that is more likely due to the much larger number of those cars they attract. Having said that, if we got the 6 to 8 GT4 Celica's lurking in members garages out to these events, a standalone class would work nicely. The other class proposals sound workable. I bit of a pity that the fastest junior (under 18 years old) was not recognised and third place by class (where applicable) did not get a gong either. After all, third place at the Olympics still gets you a bronze medal... :-)

I was extremely happy with the series as it stood. That said, I was not in the slightest bothered about ranking/classes: I just wanted to have fun! I think (my opinion, at least) that if having less data/calcs to do at the end of the day (because of a reduced number of classes, reduced complexity, etc) meant that we could run more often, I'd consider that a happy place to be. It's a great event to come to as a shake down, and (hopefully) no-one is getting too stressed about where they end up in the rankings!
Congrats to everyone who came or came regularly: there needs to be more motorsport like this that is easily accessible and fun. Massive thanks of course to Gene, Aaron, Rudi, Clint and everyone else who put time and effort in to make this as successful as it was. I'm looking forward to the next series.
