Default hks camshafts 264 possible pitting?

    Hi,

Here is a photo of a relatively new HKS camshaft that is concerning me. http://i39.tinypic.com/2147gpw.jpg . It is from the Toyota Mr2 1990 3sgte. It has only done 10000 ~ km. The problem is that I have found on one of the cam lobes what appears the tiniest pit or hole - however the rest of the lobes are spotless. When I run my finger over I have to try to catch my fingernail on it, meaning it barely scrapes my fingernail, so its not very deep, and there appears to be no ridges or burrs. The shims also seem to have the same amount of wear across all of the cam lobes. I really dont want to have to replace it due to cost, and it being relatively new. Does anyone have any idea how it could happen and if it could pose problems in thefuture

most likely to be a bubble trapped in the metal during casting. it's at the lobe peak?
should be ok unless you notice any abnormal wear on the buckets, or collateral damage on the rest of the lobe

Provided its not flaking away or chipping off I wouldn't be overly concerned, check it next service to see if it gets worse.
