ke70/ae71 fuel tank = ae86?

I'm interested in knowing if a ke70/ae71 fuel tank are the same as an ae86 one. I've been told that you can put sv21 camry in tank fuel pump + bracketry inside an ae86 tank, however I want to make up everything ready to swap in before I touch the car. Anybody know?

Nope they're different. The hole where the hardlines + fuel pump go in is smaller on the ae71/ke70. I found this out the hard way after bracketeering up an ae92 pump and then having the bloody thing not fitting! I'm fairly certain you can put the whole ae86 tank into the rear end though.

I've seen it done, ae71 with ae86 tank to ustilise sv21 pump. Something about different filler neck tho, I can't remember details. But if i remember i'll ask him.
