    I turned the motor over with the plugs out, to blow as much of the coolant out as i could after I had drained it. Let it sit and evaporate for a little, and have now put a squirt of oil in each cylinder to try "mothball" it until I can get it looked at properly. I haven't tried to get it to fire with the coolant out.

    yep ,fit a MLS HG. don't need ARP if your keeping boost/power lvls down. toyota didn't under torque the 3sgte head bolts like the 7m.

    it's more just a common problem now with 20+yr old HG's that have seen a fair bit of abuse most likely.

    blakeg: i've never heard of people using the gen3 MLS HG with gen2 heads. there are differences in the HG/water channel etc but is this not a problem?

    Cometic HG and ARP studs incoming. Also getting the timing belt done at the same time. Will also be aquiring Genuine rad cap and thermostat. Every little bit helps
