Default For the spray painters out there - a question!

I have to replace some parks on the Lexcen - the parts are straight, just the wrong colour.

What's the easiest and therefore cheapest way of getting the panels sprayed? Take the whole car to a panel beater and they spray it on the car, or give them the panels OFF the car and they spray them individually?

    Thoughts / feedback?

Anyone in Vic able to do a cheap spray job? I just need it roughly the same colour. The quality doesn't have to be great!

not sure what lexcen's are like in Vic... but up here there not really a lexcen unless there different colours and driven by a P plater cranking Eminem rocking 'chopped springs' and VT 16" alloys...

    joking aside..

is it a solid colour or metallic? are you painting entire panels edge to edge?

if you have a garage or shed... you can pull off a pretty decent paint job yourself...

they make 2K cans... that might be all you need, if you don't have a gun/compressor/water trap etc etc... best to find a local automotive paint supplier... NOT autobarn etc.. but a proper place that supplies panel shops etc.. they will have everything you need and be able to help you

    That's a fair idea.

It's just bonnet, front bar and rear bar, that's all.

Good idea for a garage jobbie, but the problem with those cans is you go through them like no tomorrow & they are expensive compared to buying 2K from a tin. Know anyone with a compressor & spray gun? Buy 2L of your colour & take the panels there

I have a small compressor - does a gravity fed gun do the job?
