Roel,
There is heaps of painting info in the Spray painting Thread. If you do a search within the thread I'm sure you will find compressor size recommendations as well as heaps of other painting info.

Hi all.
My first post on the forum. I am converting a 1993 BB40 into a family motor home (6 seats, 6 beds planned) and I have some questions.
1. Planning a full respray. I bought a compressor, 2.5HP/40l tank 120l/min free air delivery, 6-8bar/85-115 psi.
It is still in the box. I bought it since it was a good deal together with air hose and tools. I have two options: sell the compressor and get a heavier one or keep it to try and do the full respray.
I previously read through posts and it seems like a compressor like this may be on the "light side". I only want to do this job at the moment though, so do you think I could get away with it, or will it be very painful (not enough pressure, constantly waiting for air...)? I am planning on getting a Finex fx3000 gravity feed spray gun (and it does list gravity feed spray guns on the side of the box as a tool that can be used with this compressor) and am planning to do panel by panel (I.e. not the whole bus at once) maybe the panel by pael is another bad idea I just realized (differences in color due to change in heat outside?). Planning to just use white paint.
2. What is a good quality paint? What should I buy?
3. Do people like the Finex fx3000 spray gun? What nozzle size should I get?
4. If I wanted to change the front seats to get safer seats that have a head protector, which ones do you think I should get?
5. Where can I get new window sills? The ones in the bus ATM are detonated from the sun.
Thank you & God Bless,
Roel

Hi mate
Welcome! And and a note for the future: summarise your question in the thread topic, you'll get a much higher response rate!
The compressor sounds on the light side; the free-air delivery is not a lot of good, you need to know how fast it will supply at the pressure your gun is rated at (probably 1/4 of the 'free air' rate). I'd also suggest buying a GOOD respirator, and a drier for the air line. You could probably get away with a water trap too.
Changing seats is fraught with legal issues, as is making your own mounting points (assuming you don't use the factory points for the new seats). Worth checking with your local licensing department, as the standards seem to be relaxed a lot more for commercial vehicles!
