Does anyone use a small butane torch for soldering?

I have never tried it but noticed they allways use them for soldering AND heatshrinking on the discovery channel hot rod shows.

I don't know how well it would solder but they seem to do ok, so maybe it just takes a bit of practice; I get a bit sick of having to set up the soldering station near the car, its allways messy and a hassle.

yes i use one and they work a treat. i use them also with petex{or what ever it is called}, its a plastic you use to melt into radiators etc to stop leaks at the race track, its also used on the bottom of snow ski's to fix gravel rash.
