Question **HELP** Twin turbo to single 1jz setup.

What exactly is involved? i know i need a single turbo maniflod, turbo and ECU. I'm not chasing huge power, i just need to remove the turbo so i can fit my engine in my bay (hilux). I would prefer equal poer to what it has stock.
What kind of money am i looking at?
Is it best to get a custom made manifold, as i have tubs and airbag suspension.

    You will need
    - turbo (if you only want what the stock turbos can produce, you could do that with a GT28 but I wouldn't really recommend it as it seems a bit pointless. I would recomment GT30 or GT35)
    - manifold (either tuned length or a log type joiner from Rex Kelway)
    - wastegate (if not internally gated)
    - modded dump pipe
    - modded intake pipe
    - modded cooler pipe
    - oil feed and drain
    - injectors if looking for more than 230-240rwkw or so
    - ecu (many choices, do a search on that one)
    - diff that will handle the power
    - brakes so you can stop
    - suspension so you don't squat too much when you hammer it.

That is about it that I can think of.

got someone to make the manifold.
Piping can be soughted later once the motor is mounted.
I wnat to run the standard ECU if possible
    Brakes soughted.
Suspension, i ride on air, so with a flick of a switch instant high.

I'm not chasing huge power just want to get this bastard up an running. its been off the road for 12 months, trying to make it fit.
So if i can do it cheaply (i know) would be perfered.

    So guys,please excuse my ignorance.
Is it not possible to fit the stock turbos? what is it that fouls?
Is it a dump pipe issue?
    Interested.Cheers.Pete.

u wont need another computer if u keep the boost low, just run it stock, just make a manifold to put the turbo where u need, i dont see any problem with that?

Problems solved (for now). Got my hands on a gt35? a manifold and new ECU a Power FC. Thank god for connections. Should work ok.

No i have airbags. it was sitting to close to the steering, and was in the way for the booster for the clutch. the main problem was the length but found it was not really much of a problem.

The other option would be to fit a 7M CT26 on a Rex Kelaway adaptor or even A 1JZ VVTi turbo, I saw one for sale a few weeks back i think on the forums?

    ahh no worries

skip - pretty sure the VVT 1j manifolds won't go on the non VVT ones..

Yeah I was aware of that. I meant putting a VVT turbo on a Rex manifold.

I'll let everyone know once this setup is complete. It will be an improvement on the original setup. Can't wait. All i wanna say is TO4.
