    Default rotating a mid sump on a 1ggte

    anyone done it before? atm my mid rear sump sits smack dead on the crossmember and seeing as there doesnt appear to be a mid front style can i just turn this one i have around? i rekon it should clear the crossmembers if i do

    Didnt the crown 1g's come with a front sump?, sure someone can clarify this, what car is the engine going into? And no the sump cant just be spun around, the back of the sump is where the bellhousing bolts to, then the pickup will be different, same as the dipstick hole etc

    not a crown 1ggte it was out of a gz20 and has the steel pan mid sump.
    i found a thread on a guy doing a 1ggte in an ra60 and he turned the sump round with a few mods so ill give it a go just didnt want to cause any issues with oil delivery given how prone they are to spinning bearings

    GZ20 has midrear sump
    Crown has mid sump
    Cresta/Chaser has front sump

    If the bolt holes line up (or can be redrilled) you can turn it around, but you'll have to mod the pickup to make sure it remains in the base of the sump.
